👋 Hi there, I'm
Ariyan Azami
Computer Engineering Student · York University
Building at the intersection of AI/ML, full-stack development, and embedded systems.
I'm a Computer Engineering student at York University working where AI/ML, full-stack development, and embedded systems meet. As a Software Developer at Appli Solutions, I ship features on an AI-powered hiring platform. Outside work, I research medical imaging with PyTorch and U-Net at York's Laboratory of Advanced Biotechnologies — and I'm a two-time national robotics champion.
About
Most of my favourite problems don't fit neatly into one discipline — they need a model, an API, and a circuit board to all agree. That seam between hardware and software is where I like to work, and it has shaped most of what I've built.
At Appli Solutions I ship features on a production AI hiring platform, working across the stack from database to UI and pushing changes straight into production. In parallel, I research medical imaging at York's Laboratory of Advanced Biotechnologies — training U-Net segmentation models in PyTorch and TensorFlow, and publishing open-source datasets and models on Kaggle and Hugging Face.
Competitive robotics is where I learned to build complete systems under pressure: two national championships and a World Finals qualification, each demanding mechanical design, custom PCBs, and firmware that had to work on the first try. I'm happiest shipping things that touch the real world, and I'm always open to research collaborations and internships at that intersection.
